When did you start your career in dentistry?
Bio
Dr. Chris Wolberg grew up in Alexandria, Virginia, where he attended and graduated from Thomas Edison High School with a full International Baccalaureate diploma. From a young age, he knew that dentistry was the career path he wanted to pursue. What initially drew him to the profession was the unique combination of healthcare and entrepreneurship. He was fascinated by the idea that he could help people medically while also building and leading a business of his own. Just as influential, however, was the experience he had with his family dentist growing up. Watching a compassionate provider care for his family showed him the meaningful impact a dentist could have on the lives of patients and their community.
After high school, Dr. Wolberg attended Virginia Tech, where he earned a degree in biochemistry along with dual minors in chemistry and horticulture. His years at Virginia Tech strengthened both his scientific background and his appreciation for problem-solving, creativity, and personal connection. Immediately following graduation, he continued his education at Virginia Commonwealth University, where he attended the Doctor of Dental Surgery (DDS) program.
Dr. Wolberg graduated from dental school in 2016 after four demanding and transformative years. While he entered dental school with a strong interest in the business side of dentistry, his experience there reshaped his perspective in an important way. Over time, his passion evolved into a much deeper focus on patient care and the relationships that come with it. He discovered that the aspect of dentistry he loved most was not simply the procedures themselves, but the opportunity to connect with people every day and positively impact their confidence, comfort, and quality of life.
Today, Dr. Wolberg continues to find fulfillment in the artistry and craftsmanship of dentistry. He enjoys working with his hands to restore teeth, create fillings and crowns, improve smiles, and help patients feel better about themselves. For him, dentistry is both technical and deeply personal. Whether helping someone overcome dental anxiety, restoring a patient’s smile, or simply having meaningful conversations throughout the day, he believes the human connection is what makes the profession so rewarding.
Dr. Wolberg is the owner of Cedarwood Dentistry in Midlothian, Virginia, where he strives to create a welcoming, patient-centered environment built on compassion, honesty, and personalized care. One of his greatest goals is to help patients receive the treatment they need without fear or judgment. He believes every patient deserves to feel heard, respected, and comfortable in the dental chair.
Outside of the office, Dr. Wolberg’s life centers around his family and community. He and his wife, Joslyn, who works alongside him as a dental hygienist, have three children together. Much of their free time is spent enjoying family activities, spending time with neighbors, and watching their children grow and play together. They especially enjoy taking walks around the neighborhood and visiting local parks such as Rockwood Park and Midlothian Mines Park.
Dr. Wolberg and his wife also enjoy exploring local coffee shops and restaurants on date nights whenever they can find the time. In his personal time, he enjoys hiking, playing disc golf with friends and neighbors, and taking family vacations to Topsail Island, a favorite summer tradition for the Wolberg family. They also have a rescued Wheaten Terrier named Winnie, adopted through a local Midlothian rescue organization, who is often found sleeping comfortably in the back office at Cedarwood Dentistry.
Looking toward the future, Dr. Wolberg is excited to continue growing Cedarwood Dentistry, welcoming new patients into the practice, and eventually mentoring an associate dentist who shares his commitment to compassionate care. Above all, he hopes to continue changing the way people think about dentistry by creating positive experiences and helping patients feel genuinely cared for.
