When did you start your career in dentistry?
Bio
Catie’s journey into dentistry was shaped by a diverse background, beginning long before she ever set foot in a hygiene clinic. From 2020 to 2022, she worked as a dental assistant while preparing to apply to a dental hygiene program. In that role, she gained firsthand experience in patient care, chairside procedures, and the fast-paced rhythm of a dental office. Those two years solidified her passion for oral health and inspired her to further her education and expand her role in patient treatment and prevention.
Before entering the dental field, she spent a decade bartending and waitressing, experiences that proved invaluable in shaping her interpersonal skills. Working in busy restaurants and bars taught her how to connect with people from all walks of life, manage high-pressure situations with composure, and deliver exceptional service with a personal touch. She developed an ability to read people, anticipate needs, and create a comfortable, welcoming environment—skills that now translate seamlessly into her work with patients who may feel anxious or uncertain about dental visits.
After graduating in 2024 with a degree in dental hygiene, she stepped confidently into a profession that blends clinical precision with compassionate patient care. As a dental hygienist, she is known for her gentle approach, attention to detail, and commitment to patient education. She believes that empowering patients with knowledge about their oral health is just as important as the clinical care she provides. Whether she is performing routine cleanings, taking radiographs, or discussing preventive strategies, she prioritizes clear communication and individualized care.
Her background as a dental assistant gives her a well-rounded understanding of the dental team dynamic, allowing her to collaborate effectively with dentists and support staff.
What truly sets her apart is her ability to make patients feel at ease. Drawing from her years in hospitality, she approaches each patient interaction with warmth, patience, and authenticity. She understands that for many people, a dental appointment can be intimidating, and she takes pride in transforming those experiences into positive, reassuring ones.
As a licensed dental hygienist, she is dedicated to continuous learning and professional growth. She stays current with advancements in dental technology and preventive care, ensuring her patients receive the highest standard of treatment. With a focus on people-centered care, she is building a career defined by genuine connection and trust.
