Will dental insurance cover my care?

The world of dental insurance is confusing and hard to navigate. At Cedarwood Dentistry, we do our best to gather as much information as possible and keep our patients informed. Patients with dental insurance are always concerned with what will and will not be covered, and we do our best to give accurate estimates when possible.

What Dental Insurance Covers

Dental insurance is a contract between the patient and the insurance. When we perform a dental service, it is always in regards to the patient’s needs. We do our best to give each patient the care they need, but some insurances have features built into their plan to save the insurance company money. This may include: only paying for metal fillings or crowns, not fully paying for periodontal cleanings, or not covering certain procedures. We will do our best to give estimates about the out-of-pocket cost of care, help you navigate alternatives, and give other ways to maximize your dental benefits. When necessary, we will pre-authorize your treatment to provide more accurate estimates. However, once the care is completed, any cost that is not covered by your dental insurance is your responsibility.

We’ll Help You Maximize Your Dental Health Benefits

We want to focus on providing you with the best dental care you can receive. We will work with and file all insurance claims and do our best to maximize your dental benefit. In some instances, you may need to choose between having a higher out-of-pocket cost for better care or a less advantageous dental service with lower out-of-pocket cost. We will do our best to inform you of these decisions and help guide you to what is best for you. In some cases, dental care is expensive; but we think your health and smile are worth the cost.
